Back up & restore your bot

Updated Jun 4, 2026 1 min read

Back up your bot's configuration so you can restore it after a mistake — or copy a setup onto another bot.

Make a backup

Open the Backup Manager, give the backup a name, and save. A backup can include: main settings, banished users, profanity filter, command aliases, bot staff, quizzes, responses (!addq), keyword responses (!addkeyword), text replacements, and auto-temp ranks.

Restore

Pick a backup and restore it — to the same bot or a different one of yours — and choose which data types to bring back. Restoring triggers a quick bot restart.

Good to know

  • You can keep up to 50 backups.
  • You must be the bot's primary owner to back up or restore (people with shared access can't).
  • Restoring never transfers ownership, password, or bot time — only the settings/content above.
  • You can share a backup with another owner via a password code, so this is also the clean way to migrate a setup between bots.
