Bridge your Discord server with xat
The Chat Bridge connects one Discord channel to one of your xat chats so messages are relayed both ways. It is a great way to keep your Discord community and your xat room talking to each other without anyone having to be in both at once.
How it works
- Messages sent in the bridged Discord channel appear in your xat chat.
- Messages from your xat chat appear in the Discord channel, shown with the sender's name so it is clear who said what.
- The bridge only affects the one channel you choose. The rest of your server is untouched.
Turn it on
- Make sure the bot is already added to your server.
- In the panel, open the Discord bot setup and choose the channel to bridge.
- Pick the xat bot (and its room) you want to connect to, then enable the bridge.
You can turn the bridge off at any time and the bot will stay in your server, ready to switch back on later.
Tips
- Use a channel that is dedicated to the bridge so the relayed messages are easy to follow.
- Keep Bot Time topped up so the bot stays online. The Discord bot uses the same Bot Time as your xat bots.
